Almost done

We finally have all the sheep and I think we ended up with 22.  Not 21.  I will do a final count later.  We are on our way back to get the donkey.  He is "stubborn as a mule" except he is not a mule.  But stubborn, he is.

I still like the mini cows, but I am not going to ask about them.  I'm not.  Honest.  I'm not, I'm not, I'm not.  There.  I've convinced myself.  I think.

This week-end will be spent examining, separating, charting, and sorting the animals.  Mommas and babies.  Females not with babies or not in milk.  Males.  Right now, they are all where the mommas and babies (milkers) are going to be.  We need to build two more areas and we have the fence for it.  We just need to get it done.  It won't take long.  An hour at most.

Bethany found herself some seashells and snail shells.  Some other treasures have been found which I had mentioned the other day.  I am thinking the males can go down to the "old homestead" area eventually.  It needs a good cleaning.  Meanwhile, they will be a bit closer.

I am also trying to decide what to do with the dogs.  Not that we are getting rid of them.  They are sweet.  But they are flea infested big time and their fur is severely matted.  This is way beyond what is common for Komondors.  I'd love to just cut it all off and have the growth start over, but I don't know what that will do to the dogs' skin.

I am exhausted from all the back and forth.  We are talking 140 miles round trip.  This is the second trip today plus the trip yesterday, plus the trip the day before.  That is a lot of driving.  But, it is worth it.

suggestion for the dogs, go to the vet and ask for comfortis for dogs, it's a pill, I think it was 12 dollars last time I bought it, suppose to last a month but I have found it does a little better than that on mine. I give it to mine in a hot dog, starts killing fleas within hours of taking it. My little dog cost the same as the one for my big dog. If it was me and the bad matting of fur I would start clipping short. My dad always did our old collie in the summer and he did much better minus the heavy coat of fur in the summer and it grew back for the winter.
Have a blessed evening

Kim, if spinosad is something you're interested in, give me a holler next time you're up here.

Comfortis is an Elanco product.

Uh huh. Yeah. Call me.
