Laundry Day

I have been answering questions, but have not really updated what has been going on the past few days.  I did a couple of loads of laundry yesterday and the laundry got rained on yesterday afternoon and during the night.  So, I decided to gather the rest of the laundry and the bedding and came to the laundromat which is where I sit while I wait for the laundry to finish.
.
We went swimming again yesterday before the thunderstorm hit and enjoyed cooling off in the lake.  (Yes, we once again went swimming in our clothes.)  The children still don't know how to swim, but they are getting the basic idea of paddle and kick.
.
Tomorrow is Charlie's birthday.  He will officially be car seat free tomorrow.  He is excited.  His birthday is the same as T's birthday.  Tomorrow, we will be going to Springfield to pick up a few things and I will be taking T shopping for her gift.
.
We had a huge blow-up the other night and hashed a lot of things out.  There was miscommunication and misunderstandings about various things and after a lot of talking and not a little yelling, everything was talked out and settled.  The tension that had been in the air for a few days is now gone and we have decided to have nightly meetings to check in with each other to see if there is anything going on so that things don't fester.
.
Husband and K are chainsaw shopping to replace the one that broke.  They are also going to pick up a couple of chainsaw blades since the blades have been wearing out despite the constant sharpening.
.
The bad news is we now have chiggers to go with the ticks.  (Some things remain the same no matter what state you live in.)  The good news is my homemade bug spray is working.  Although we are getting bit, it is not near as bad as it was.
.
One Quart Spray Bottle:
50 Drops Lavender Oil
50 Drops Rose Hips Oil
100 Drops Eucalyptus Oil
100 Drops Citronella Oil
Fill with water.
.
These are all essential oils.  I spray everyone first thing in the morning, again about half way through the day and one more time when they are getting ready for bed.  The number of bug bites from ticks, chiggers, and mosquitos have dropped.  Not to zero, but still have dropped considerably.  This is much better than using a neurotoxin which is what deet is.  (The main ingredient in Deep Woods Off and other commercial insect repellent sprays.)
.
Time to go check my laundry.

Ha, ha, I'll bet that is tedious . . . counting three hundred drops of oils!

I went to visit my grandchildren early yesterday evening. A few of my clothes were nearly dry on the line, so I left them thinking I could just bring them in when I got home. Well, some stupid rain cloud sneaked in while I was gone . . .
