Blessings

God has looked out for us yet again and showed us His mercy.  The storms that came through Wednesday night dumped 4+ inches of rain on us.  (I'll show pictures once we get them uploaded.)  It destroyed the awning we set up to keep things dry.
.
It was supposed to continue raining all day yesterday and through the night last night.  It didn't.  We now have something set up much stronger and more stable than what we had before to shelter the outdoor area from the rain.  Our outdoor kitchen is looking very good.
.
I spent the day today doing laundry.  Water was gotten today and I used close to 200 gallons of water on all the laundry I did.  Startling to realize just how much water was used, but when you take into account the fact that I was also doing blankets and sheets, it really isn't surprising.  It is amazing going from doing laundry and "knowing" how much water you might be using and actually seeing and knowing exactly how much water goes into a load of laundry.
.
Tomorrow, the generator will run again and T will be doing her family's laundry and bedding.  One of the things we have taken to doing when doing laundry is brewing coffee.  Hey, the generator is already running, so why not take advantage of it and have ash-free, grounds-free coffee?
.
It looks like there will be a small change in time line plans of house building.  We will know more next week.  But right now, just staying ahead of the mud and muck is a full time job.
.
I still wouldn't change my mind and go back for anything.  Even in the most frustrating aspects of all of this, it is still magnificent and amazing.  Powerful storms hit all around us and we are protected.  Yes, we get rain and wind and lightening, but the tornadoes, hail, massive damage, etc miss us.  The smell of cedar is wonderful and fragrant.  The birds sing and it is so musical that I love to just stop and listen to it.  The sky right now is so blue and clear that it feels like God is smiling upon me and hugging me.  I just want to drop to my knees in thanks for all He has given me and shown me.

this message is for Bethany, This is your Auntie Barb writing to you. I've tried to write to your blog address but it won't let me send it to you for some reason. Anyway I'm glad to hear your having fun. What kind of things do you do to help the family? What kind of animal tracks have you found? I hope you learn a lot, there is so much to learn out in the woods and living more like the people in an earlier part of history. I will see you in a few weeks. You be good, help your mom and say your prayers and set a good example for your sister. Love you ......Auntie Barb
