We're official!

We have an address!  Granted, it's a PO box, but it is an address.  It is a Missouri address and we're Arkansas residents, but in this area that is apparently not all that unusual.  There are people around with Arkansas addresses with Missouri residency.  But we can now send and receive mail.  Snail mail.
.
We have also opened up a bank account here and will be calling to have our income direct deposited into that account.  Today is a day of taking care of business.
.
We are heading to Branson which is the nearest VA clinic and we're going to get Husband registered with them.  We were assured it would not take too long.  Once we are done with that, we need to get Bethany some shoes.  She has outgrown her size 10s and is going through a growth spurt big time.  We also are planning on picking up a GPS so we can get the coordinates of the four corners of the property line and get the coordinates of where we are going to build.  We have the place picked and are going to start clearing.  We are going to do a perimeter clearing.  When hunting season comes in a few months, we want people to know that "This is not only private property, but people actually live here and are not seasonal folk."
.
Friday, we're going to go into Yellville and get our licenses transferred and the truck plated.
.
Can I just say I love it out here?  The air is clean and fresh.  Hannah is not turning blue.  B has had to use his inhaler once.  The people are just beautiful.  I'm not talking looks either.  I'm talking internally.  We were exploring our "neighborhood" the other day and saw a guy on a 4-wheeler and stopped and talked with him.  We talked for a good 20 minutes and he told us about our neighbors and said "if you need this, go see them.  If you need that, talk with those folks.  I'm here abouts on the map" and on and on.  These are just plain good people around here.  When I said that to the gentleman, he winked and said "there are the occasional bad apples."  Granted, I am sure that is true.  But I would rather deal with one or two bad apples and be in a community of decent folk than have to worry about dishonesty and being taken advantage of.  There isn't the "You're outsiders" mentality here.
.
What's funny is the other day, T says "that officer must be watching this area."  K looked at her and said "T, He's gone to the edge of town and has come back."  Apparently, she forgot how small the nearest town is.  And the fact that the town has only one police officer.
.
We are going to move the homeschooling curriculum to the afternoon in preparation of summer.  Work in the cool of the morning and evening.  Afternoons are for sitting, cooling off, and schoolwork.
.
Time for me to call up a map and find our way to the VA Clinic.

I'd be interested to hear sometime about the house and your collective plans for it. Like the lay-out, how you'll set up the kitchen, etc.

Laura, remember Little House on the Prairie? This could be "the Big house in the Ozarks. George told me he already has the plans drawn up, but I didn't see them. George is very articulate and is good at designing so it will be interesting.
