Taking Five

Taking a quick five minute break here to catch my breath.
.
I spoke with the PD and things look good. I showed him all the information I pulled together including the revamped budget and he is going to talk to the prosecutor and get back to me. I will still have to appear in court on May 12, of course, but I am no longer worried like I was.
.
We have a new generator and a couple of solar panels. We also have lenses for building a solar cooker that a friend gave us. I am wanting to keep track of money spent doing this so I have an end total. Gifts (such as the lenses) are obviously free, but things like a generator and the solar panels are out of pocket money.
.
The pygmy has a new home now. She was delivered about an hour ago. For that, I am thankful.
.
I've been packing and sorting like crazy. I have all the necessary stuff packed like clothes, medications, toiletries, etc. I also have important papers gathered and in the lock box packed with the rest of the stuff. Now, I am going through the rest of the stuff and saying "If a tornado hit the day after we left and leveled the house, what can not be replaced that I want or need?" So I am now collecting school books, bibles, herbal books, naturopath books, and other stuff that we may need.
.
Having lots of books makes sorting hard because I am a reader. But Erma Bombeck, John Grisham, Jamie Oliver, Stephen King, Mark Twain, Rudyard Kipling, Danielle Steele, and Robin Cook all have to stay behind. If they get destroyed in a tornado, they get destroyed. This is about priorities. They can come down later, but for now gets left behind.

obviously you are not going to have internet for some time, are you still going to try to keep your blog up? I'm sure we'd all love to see pics of your adventure!

Keep a written journal from day one. Could be a book in your future!
