Sunday, Laundry Sunday

We are doing laundry right now and trying to get rid of the ground in mud in everything.  The laundromat isn't that far.  Only about 20 miles or so.  I didn't like the idea of having to come into town to do laundry.  Especially on a Sunday.  But, it was necessary.
.
We slept in the truck last night thanks to mud being smeared on our bed.  (Dumb dogs and dumb chickens.)  Then there was the small matter of a leak in our tent.  So add rain to mud and you have a mess.  Hence the truck sleeping and the laundromat.
.
We found out where the hens are laying.  We found 16 eggs and they looked like the most beautiful eggs in the world.  We collected them from the nest the hens made under some brush and as we were leaving, I looked over through the brush and there were three more eggs.
.
Today's focus on our day of rest is clean-up.  Cleaning the mud out of everything and off of everything.  We got nowhere near all the laundry done today that needs doing, but we will at the very least have clean bedding and the children will have clean shoes.  Yes, I washed the shoes.
.
My children love mud.  They will sit in it, smear it, pick up handfuls of it, paint with it, and make it splash.  I am trying to remember that they are in fact children and doing what children do, but there is another part of me that believes they are just trying to drive me over the edge.
